New Arrivals, week of July 19th

Many of you know that the Wead Library is more than just a place to find great books. We have so many programs but today I would like to focus on a new one you may not be aware of. At the library we share a long standing relationship  with the Malone Central School District. We also boast facilities available for community meetings. With that combination we are able to be the place where the Summer Lunch Program, for all children 18 and under, sponsors a daily free lunch.  The lunches are great, consisting of wraps or sandwiches, fresh veggies and salads, fruit and milk. They are SUBSTANTIAL. So if you have children who are 18 and under, have an appetite and can be at the library between 11:15AM and 12:15AM you can have a great lunch with friends.  Time is critical as the wonderful providers leave at 12:15 sharp. These are bag lunches  that must be eaten here at the library. Yesterday lunchers enjoyed a picnic outside in the sunshine. Today lunch was served up on our third floor ( no handicap access).  We really hope your young ones can enjoy this opportunity.

This week’s Non-Fiction includes “My Life with Bob”  by Pamela Paul. “Bob”  is a journal the main character has kept since a young girl. It is a list of every book she has ever read and reflects growth and change in her life. It has been with her every moment of her life and to every place she’s been and provides the backdrop for her own personal story.
