February Happenings at the Wead Library

Our Story Hours will be returning very soon. Mrs. Andre’s group will meet for the first time this winter at 6:30 in the evening on Tuesdays. Her first Story Hour will take place on January 31st.  Our group for little ones 3 years of age and under will meet on Thursdays at 11:00AM with Mrs. McDonald starting on February 2nd. Her group for three to five year olds will meet on Wednesday mornings at 11:00AM starting February 1st. Please call if you would like to attend any of our fun and lively children’s Story Hour groups with your little ones. All are welcome.  Story Hours will not occur the week of school vacation, February 19-25th but will return on Tuesday, February 28th.

On February 7th and 21st The Alzheimer’s Association will continue with its very informative programs. Some of our staff have attended the programs and found them highly informative and enlightening. If you have concerns about dementia, Alzheimer’s and aging, if you are caring for someone who has these issues, please attend. You will leave better informed and  aware of the many resources there are to help you along this journey. Each program will discuss a different aspect of dementia and Alzheimer’s and all are welcome to the program. As always it is free and we hope to see you there. It will be taking place on our third floor which lacks wheel chair access. (We are working on that.) The programs start at 6:30PM on the 7th and at 11:00AM on the 21st.

Our popular program, Tech Talk, continues every Wednesday from 2-3:00PM. Bring you devices, questions, cameras, phones, whatever clicks, and hopefully we will be able to help with  your questions. Need to unfriend on Face Book? We can show you how, that, and many other ways to maneuver social media. Again, this is a free program.

Wednesday, at 10:00AM on February 8th, 15th and 22nd, Children’s Home of Jefferson County will be presenting programs on Foster Care. If you have ever considered opening your heart and home to children in need, this is the perfect venue to find out what is involved. Attendance is free and open to all.

The Wead Library Book Club will meet on Thursday at 4:00PM on February 23rd. . New members are welcome and if you are interested in joining, just call one of our friendly staff at 518-483-5251 for further details.

It’s a great time to ferret out awesome bargains in every type of literature and meet with other friends in the community. We so hope to see you at this special event.

Our lovely Grandma Helen will be here every Friday from 2-4:00PM  for stories, hugs and to color and craft with her small friends. She would love it if you would come by and say hello.
