The New Year is here!

As the holidays become a memory for years to come a cold January beckons. We are
back to our regular programming and also prepping for our annual February Book Sale. It will take place on Friday, February 3rd and Saturday, February 4th. We will have more information for you as we get closer to the big event!

In the meantime, Family Movie Night has returned starting January 6th at 6:00PM. We have great family movies every Friday night that are fun for all the family.

Did you get a new device for Christmas? Every Wednesday from 2:00pm -3:00pm we have Tech Talk and  will do our best to get you comfortable with your device. We help with cameras, tablets, laptops, phones and will give it all our best efforts

Our good friend, Ranger the Rescue Dog, returns on the 18th of January at 3:00PM in our Children’s Library. He is wonderful, patient, kind and  loves children.

Our evening Story Hour with Mrs. Andre will return on the last day of the month, January 31 st at 6:30. This group is for 3-5 year olds and if you would like to attend just give us a call to register at 518-483-5251.

Friday afternoons we have stories with Grandma Helen. Grandma Helen is here to read to your little ones, do some coloring and share her kindness and love of children in many ways. She is here at the library from 2-4:00 every Friday, weather permitting.

A special program, “Know the Ten Signs of Early Detection of Alzheimer’s” will take place on Thursday, January 19th at 11:00AM. This program is supported by the NYS Dept. of Health and the Center for Neurobehavioral Health at Suny Plattsburgh.  The workshop will be presented by the Alzheimer’s Association. Mark your calendars  and plan for a very enlightening evening. This meeting is for the public.

Our Craft Group convenes on the first and third Saturdays of the month at 10:00am. All are welcome. Bring your knitting, crochet, quilting or any other craft project you are currently working on. It is always great fun to share with kindred creative spirits.

Our Teen Group will be looking forward to lunch provided by the Library while they work to set up our Winter Book Sale on January 28th at 11:00AM. New members are always welcome.

Last but not least, the Library will be closed on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 16, 2017.

We look forward to seeing our patrons as we get deeply into winter. The folks of the North Country know how to have fun all winter long and we are here for you!
