June is transition time. Children finish up their schooling. The ground changes from bleak and barren to one  spilling forth strawberries, radishes and peas. Camps get opened, aired out and enjoyed for the first time in a year. Lots and lots to do!

June at the Wead Library has the majority of our regular programs continuing. Our Annual Summer Book Sale took place this past weekend and was a success! For now we are not accepting new donations but will begin again to gladly accept your offers on July first. We greatly appreciate all the donations as they put money into our coffers and what is more fun for a reader than a book sale where you can pay 25 cents for a great work of literary art?  We thank the community for all the support  given with your donations and your purchases.  It is of great value to the library and much appreciated.

Our Friday Night Family Movies continue through June with the films “Aristocats”, “Tarzan” and “Rio” being offered, free of charge. Please bring your family and friends to enjoy them at 6:00PM on Friday evenings. All movies are finished no later than eight o’clock. Feel free to bring snacks but please have all beverages in covered containers. We hope to see you there!

Every Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00PM our Tech Talk continues. Do you have a device that you can’t figure out? Did you lose something in the Windows Ten transition? Come visit us during that time so we can devote uninterrupted attention and help you with your tech problems. We will do our best to get you connected. We are not  IT experts but we do have a pretty good handle on most devices and are eager to help you. There is no charge for this service.

Other groups that will meet in June are our Book Club, Teen Advisory Board and our Crafts Group. Please call us at 518-856-0164 if you have interest in joining in the fun of these groups.  We would love to have you on board.

The Board of Trustees of the Wead Library will meet at 7:00PM on Monday, June 20th. The public is welcome.

We also have a Summer Reading Program and a Preschool Story Hour that will begin in July. If you are interested, now is the time to sign up for these programs which are for ages 3 through 10.
