New arrivals, week of June 3, 2016

Aside from new books, we have other new arrivals to announce. Did you know that the Wead Library has study books for numerous civil service exams? These can be studied here at the library or taken out for seven days. Tests for Custodians, Maintenance Workers, Clerk Typists and much more are always being scheduled by Franklin County. If you have signed up for any of the many tests given you can now study for most of them with professional guides that will give test examples and more. They are called Passbooks from National Learning Corporation and this week we shelved 3 topics that might help you with your goals. To reserve a study booklet, you can stop by or just call the library at 518-856-0164 and one of our friendly staff will help reserve the book for you.

Also new on our shelves is an addition to the Great Courses program. For those not familiar, Great Courses are written to be easily understood and are taught by some of the world’s greatest scholars on the subjects offered.  They run the gamut from photography to gourmet cooking to Metaphysics, our newest entry.  Please come check them out. Those who have taken out one course like them so much that they continue to take others, even in subjects they are not wholly familiar with. Care to expand your knowledge? Great Courses are for you!
