Summer continues trying to invade our beautiful Fall season! The leaves still change their glorious hues and nights still offer a bit of chill but the sun blazes the way it should on the Fourth of July and we get a bit of reprieve for our gardens. Once your garden is put to bed for the season, grab a good book and savor what remains of our glorious Indian Summer.

With Fall’s arrival much is happening this month at the Wead Library. Story hours have begun again with morning story time for 3-5 year olds on Wednesday at 11:00am with Mrs. McDonald. Three to five year olds can also attend our evening story hours with Mrs. Andre on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. A special story hour for those under three years old happens on Thursdays at 11:00am with Mrs. McDonald. Call the library to register your little ones for this fun time getting to know books, share songs, and make crafts.

Our Giant Fall Book Sale begins tomorrow at 10:00AM until 7:00PM Friday and continues Saturday, October 4th from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. We have lots of items for sale besides books. It has been cleaning time at the library and some interesting bargains are to be found. We hope you come join in the fun.

On the first and third Saturdays of the month our handwork group, “Needles and Hooks” meets at 10:00AM Saturday mornings. If you enjoy knitting, embroidery, crocheting or any other type of small handwork, please come join in the fun and fellowship.

Friday night movies are returning this month as well. On tap are some great new features. Check on the Movie tab at the top of this page for the schedule. Bring the family, your snack and don’t be afraid to dress the little ones in their jammies. It is a fun night for all!

On Friday, October 31st, the Wead Library will close at five o’clock to allow our patrons and staff to share Halloween night with their families. Happy Trick or Treating!
